Singletto Supported Teledyne FLIR in the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) PPB Program
Singletto’s Oxafence Active Protection technology was further developed for the DARPA Personalized Protective Biosystems Program under sub-contract with Performer Teledyne FLIR
The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Personalized Protective Biosystem (PPB) program just wrapped as of September 30, 2024. This two-phased program funded the transformational development of lightweight and adaptive uniform prototypes that provide protection from dangerous chemical and biological (CB) threats.
Singletto supported prime contractor/performer Teledyne FLIR, a global leader in the design, manufacturing, and marketing of enhanced perception and awareness technologies, in Phase II of the PPB Program. Oxafence was incorporated into Teledyne FLIR’s Integrated Solider Protective System (ISPS), a smart fabric suit still under development, to mitigate biological threats.
“Frontline heroes – whether on the battlefield or providing medical care – deserve the best possible protection,” says Singletto CEO and Co-Founder John Bjornson. “We were proud to partner with the world-class team of innovators at Teledyne FLIR in the further development of Oxafence for biological protection.”
“Teledyne FLIR strives to produce solutions that help first responders and military personnel protect and save lives through the application of new and innovative technologies, such as Oxafence. We look forward to continued collaboration with Singletto in this space as we work to protect frontline personnel from current and emerging chemical and biological threats,” says Dr. Jennifer Poole, Teledyne FLIR Senior Research Scientist.
